Who Am I?!

Lots of good stuff went down this weekend, but I will start at the beginning...

Friday: There was a "Good-bye John" party at Mel and John's house b/c John is going to do some research at a National Lab for a while. The party didn't start until 8, so I had some chicken tortillas for dinner and waited for Erin to pick me up. While I was waiting, I chatted with my new neighbors across the street! They are super nice and have a big but not hairy dog like Heif, a Greater Swiss Mountain dog named Slater, and a mini Doxi named Olive. The owners are Lisa and Dave (I think). They are super nice and I look forward to having neighbors that I actually talk to! Go figure!

Erin picked me up and my contribution to the party was a gallon of cheapo white wine for sangria and Cool Ranch Doritos! Healthy? No. Delicious? YES!!!

Oh! Also on Friday, I broke down and made a Dr.'s appointment to have my cough thing checked out that I still have. The Dr. ended up giving me a steroid and an antibiotic. This translated to a headache after a few drinks and ended up being an early night for me, but I still didn't get home til about 12:30.

Saturday: I was at Laura's house at 8:30 to go to the Farmers' Market. We went to our favorite stand and I blew the $15 that was in my pocket on their amazing bread, cherries, peaches and 2 ears of corn. Laura and I walked around some more and then I found a giant (like 2 foot long!) zucchini and some how I located $2 in my purse for it! It's going to make awesome zucchini boats! We took our goods to the car and I had to go to the dog food store for Heif. Then we stopped at Winco for a few things and then went to the Goodwill to see if we could locate some attire for the Hillbilly Prom that Laura's band is playing at on Aug. 20! I secured an awesome shirt for this event but you will have to wait til the date b/c I forgot to take a picture.

We came back to Pullman and I left my perishables at Laura's b/c we decided to go to the Old European for brunch. I decided on the Scandinavian Cake plate and had totally intended to take a picture but had pretty much devoured it when I thought of it again. The Cake plate consisted of a potato pancake with apple sauce, 2 sand dollar regular pancakes, a strawberry swedish crepe with cream cheese filling and 3 abelskivers, which are like pancake balls. Totally awesome! Next time I go, I HAVE to take a picture to show you the goods!

I took Laura home and unpacked my stuff, hung a load of clothes out on the line and took a nap. Then it was time to go see Captain America with the gang (gang = Mel, John, me, Erin, Nico). Captain America was a good movie! Having no real concept of what it was supposed to be, Chris Evans' muscles can appear in any movie I watch if you ask me! :) Now I'm looking forward to The Avengers next summer b/c it's Capt. Am AND Thor!!!! *girly giggle*

After the movie, Erin and I went to Moscow b/c we inherited free tickets to some Summer Music Festival at the Moscow Fairgrounds. But first, we had to make a pit stop!
Jamms strikes again!
After we shoveled our froyo we went to check out the music. I'm pretty sure that we missed the main entertainment by 7pm when we got there, but the tickets said 3-11pm. This is what we got.

The bugs started attacking Erin and we left shortly after that. We stopped on the way back to Pullman to get gas and ended up with some Mountainy Fountain Dews!!! Only the best kind of Dew there is! I have decided to call this "carbloading" but it's probly not the right kind. :)

I got home and started getting my stuff together for the morning b/c I was getting up early and doing my long run! Gosh Darnit!

Sunday: It was an early one! The alarm went off at 4:30. I was out of bed, dressed and had my protein oats in me by 5am. I put my stuff in the car and was on my way to Moscow by 5:15. I was on the trail and running from Moscow to Troy by 5:40am. It was a beautiful morning!

I don't know who I was during this run, but I'll take it!! I can't say that I feel like I was pushing it at all but I knew that I had PR'ed my 5 mile by a minute or so and I crushed my 10 mile time by about 15 minutes! I was having doubts that I could even run the half in September, but I have proven to myself that my body hates the hills of Pullman and when I'm on a most flat trail, I can go much faster! Go figure!

I ended up walking the hill up to Erin's house and her parents made us waffles and sausage. She drove me back to my car and I went home and took a 4 hour nap. I got up and was sore but not dying in pain or dying of hunger like I had predicted. I spent the rest of the night lounging/stretching on the couch. I'm not even going to touch the B last night b/c I got bored with it after an hour and went to bed. If there's anything I need to see, please let me know.

I know some other ladies had HM's this weekend and killed PR's of their own! WTG ladies!!!

Now that it's Aug, I get to start my healthy month, which I will tell you about tomorrow since this post has become crazy long!

How was your weekend?
